Shawl in a Cake

I really, really love this yarn. Made the shawl that's pictured, but with less stitches to make it longer.

Wish I bought more of it when I saw it on sale at Joanns... but didn't know how it was to work up.

Just blocked... it is stunning! Sorry you discontinued this.

Hi Ginny - Shawl in a Cake may be discontinued, but you can get the same yarn (and many of the same colors) in our Shawl in a Ball yarn.

Shawl in a cake

Shawl in a ball and shawl in a cake to me are the same. I have purchased may different balls of this yarn. Just completed a shawl for my daughter. She fell in love with the color and the softness.

LOVE Shawl in a Cake yarn

LOVE this yarn. I purchased several colors with the metallic thread: Opal, Wind Chimes and Prism, for shawls and scarfs. This yarn is categorized as 4 weight, but feels more like a 3 to me. Sometimes, I use 2 strands together for a warmer garment. The yarn is so pretty that you should choose simple stitches to focus on the yarn. Also, it is somewhat difficult to rip out because it is a little fuzzy. All that being said, I still LOVE it and will purchase again.

This yarn is very pretty! I really enjoy the texture and the sparkle. I especially appreciate that the sparkly filament doesn't separate from the rest of the yarn. Great colors too!

Love this yarn!

This yarn is so light and soft! I’ve made several shawls and scarves using it and am currently crocheting an Afghan using two colors. I’m also making a tunic top from Wind Chimes that should look great with my jeans. The items made with this yarn feel weightless and so soft on your body! I love it!!

I bought this for a pattern I had for a big fluffy pocket shawl. It is too light and airy for that. Have found some other patterns I will try with it. It is beautiful, just not the 4 weight I was looking for.
