Great Yarn But Be Lot Smart

I had a pattern that underestimated the yarn needed. I had bought one Honey Bee at my local JoAnn’s but they were sold out as was every store in KC

Needing to finish the project in 2 weeks, I ordered the yarn online & it arrived in time.

However, my skein was made in Egypt & the online skein was from Turkey. Not only was the color different but so was the texture & sheen of the yarn. It was fine to use on its own but was worthless to me for this project.

I had to use a different yarn color to finish the blanket, which meant undoing several hours’ work.

I could have lived with the slight color difference but the texture/sheen was a deal breaker. The skein I did use was good; I just wished I had overbought so the colors would have matched.

GREAT yarn for knitting afghans!

I knit afghans for the women moving into the Lord’s Place, where they have a home (coming out of jail or homeless status) while learning personal and job skills to help them become self-supporting. They LOVE their one-of-A
Kind, washable afghans - and I love the
reasonable price of the Lion Brand yarn!!

Pound of Love

I bought 3 different shades (terracotta, cinnabar, and umber) and I love the colors. J hook works for a neck wrap, but I prefer an H hook for my crochet hats. It does well with a nice textured stitch. The yarn is soft and crocheting along is pretty easy. Very happy with these colors!! The photo I took with sun coming in the window which gave it a pink tone, but it’s actually exactly like terra-cotta.

Love this yarn....

Love this yarn. I make a lot of hats for charity with circular knitting machines. The machines love it. Can't say that about a lot of yarns. Many in that picture are made with Pound of Luv yarn. Thanks Lion brand!
