I purchased this yarn to make a toddler's dress. However, as I worked the collar, I realized it was way too thick and bulky for a child's dress. So I ended up making beanies to donate to cancer patients. This yarn is very soft and the colors are nice. The strands are not woven tightly, so I'm getting some splitting. I wanted to give it a try but I'll probably go back to my all-time favorite yarn, the Lion Brand 24/7 cotton. I haven't found anything that looks and feels as good as this yarn.
The color I bought, which looks like a light blue/periwinkle is more of a dirty gray in person, very disappointed… I can see the difference in color and the advertisement and my work in progress. I love the yarn, but not the color.
Soft and easy to use. I am a beginner and was able to make a pouch and other accessories with this!
I have a love-hate relationship with this yarn. I’ve purchased dozens of skeins, so I suppose love wins. It is extremely soft and hangs beautifully. However, you have to make sure to pay attention to dye lots on this yarn. I am in the middle of a crocheted cardigan and ran out of my first batch of Vintage and bought more. The difference is huge. The new batch does not have the same silky sheen as the first batch I purchased. It is also a slightly different color and the fibers feel thicker. I do understand that this is a risk with natural fibers, but it almost feels like a different product. As it’s cotton, I am hoping it will even out in the wash, but it is frustrating. Note that like other cottons, this yarn splits easily. On the good side, it makes luxuriously soft baby blankets and cozy sweaters.
I used the Lion Brand seaglass paired with mineral yellow to make some quick beautiful pot holders for a Christmas gift! They turned out perfect. I really enjoyed working with this cotton yarn, better than others I have tried! It didn’t fray like some other brands. The color combo worked well too.
I love working with this yarn. It’s smooth and durable. It washes and dries up very well.
