2 hints: 1) I did French knots for the eyes & nostrils and placed a piece of interfacing/batting underneath to keep the stitches from showing & from pulling out 2) leave 'tails' long enough to sew each colored section together so you are using the same color yarn as the section to sew the seam. I also made this in a variegated yarn and it turned out well.
