Brainless Art

Sounds odd to call it brainless art, but I started knitting as a way to relax and unwind. This means patterns can’t take too much focus. This also means many are simple and sometimes boring compared to what is possible. This one was amazing. The yarn along with the simple stitches allowed me to make an absolutely beautiful piece of art and still do it without straining the brain. I didn’t get a picture before it was shipped off to the new baby (baby arrived two days later so finished just in time)

Colours Aren’t Great

Bought the Centaur and Warlock and am disappointed in both. Also the yarn splits like crazy. Usually static about Lion Brand and Mama In A Stitch patterns but not this time.
Will still try to make it work but I won’t be carry the yarn very often, more like cutting and weaving to find the colours that look nice together.

Beautiful and classic product

Can’t wait to start this afghan. The colors I chose will mesh beautifully. It’s going to become an heirloom. Simple pattern stitch too. Mama in a Stitch has fantastic patterns.

Love the linen stitch

I've made a start on the throw----it will take awhile. I love the look of the stitch pattern that is showing up now that I have three or four inches done. I am disappointed though in the colors of the yarn----- that I find most misleading. From the picture I had assumed that the colors in the picture would be the colors of the yarn. Not so. The yarns in the kit are not only much more muted but the two different color ways are much the same so there won't be as much color variation (with only one color different in the two color ways) in the finished work as I had anticipated and not as bright and lively looking.

Overall though I am enjoying seeing it play out.

Great pattern, horrible yarn colors

The pattern was very easy to follow, although carrying a color was new to me but was easy to learn. The yarn though? Ordered the centaur and warlock but the colors were nothing like the blanket shown. They’re very dark and dull- not the dusty roses and blues etc shown in the pictures. It looked like an old afghan that was dug out of an attic. I bought a different brand and chose my own colors- I hope it will look better!
