Beautiful shading

I love this yarn. The shading is beautiful and perfect for so many projects. The yarn is soft and great to work with. I love the amount of yarn in the skein as well. Really goes far. I do agree that the center pull is non-existent.

Great for Chemo Caps

I loved using Ice Cream big scoop to make chemo caps. The colors are so nice and cheerful, and I think the thickness is good for wearing of a cap in the summer. I have donated over a hundred chemo caps so far, and many of them using this yarn.

Off to a slow start

Here’s the scoop…Ice Cream Big Scoop yarn is definitely NOT “center pull friendly”. Don’t even try. I’m a patient person so I will get this tangled mess sorted and move forward. But sadly, I’m off to a slow start after trying to begin at the center as is my custom. Lion Brand has many color-changing yarns to choose from so I think I’ll choose differently next time.
Update: Got the tangles smoothed out now and I’m smoothly crocheting along. I’m doubling back to say I find that Ice Cream yarn does have a nice weight and full texture for a 3-weight. I’m pleased with the look and feel of my project as I work. My color is Unicorn, and I am quite happy with Ice Cream yarn after all.

Perfect baby yarn

This is my go to yarn for making baby blankets. One skein will give you a beautiful blanket. The colors are stunning. I love every color combo.

As good as I hoped

I used the pattern “Baby Log Cabin Afghan” from the Lion Brand pattern library with colors Strawberry, Watermelon, and Limeade. The yarn isn’t the softest I’ve ever used, but did soften some after washing. It’s soft enough for a baby, just not super soft. There’s probably enough left in the 3 Big Scoop skeins for 2 more blankets like this.
