disappointing quality

The New York white yarn is pretty, but I was disappointed by the number of knots in most of the 9 skeins I purchased. I'm crocheting a large stadium blanket, so it's annoying to have so many extra yarn ends to have to work in. Also, I noticed that the strands in this type of yarn separate more readily than with other Lion Brand yarn types, so it's easy to catch your hook on a strand as you are crocheting, which slows down the process. The white was much worse than the Hometown Fort Worth blue skeins I bought! I still like using Lion Brand yarns, but won't purchase this type again, after completing this project.

Hello Robyn - our apologies for any excessive knots in your skeins! If you come across more than 3-5 knots (depending on the size of the skein) please contact our quality control team at [email protected] so we can make a record and help you out.

Awesome yarn

I bought this with the kit to make my first sweater and I love how it feels. My swatch match up to gauge. Does split a little bit so I just watch out for it. I do like the sheen and love how soft it is!!

Good yarn for the Ruffle Basket

I prefer natural yarn, but felt that it did not matter as much for making a basket. The yarn is soft and has a nice sheen, but one has to pay attention working with it. For me, it tends to split since it does not have a lot of twist. It is a bit pricy for the length given, unless you buy it on sale. Note that some colors (prints) have a shorter length, and it's not that easy to understand which ones are the prints. I would appreciate a better distinction in the description. All said, I'm very happy with my baskets, but had to use a smaller size needles to accomplish the firmness needed for the pattern.

Hometown Yarn for Basic Stripes Sweater

This yarn is very soft and works up quickly. However, it also splits easily and sheds a lot. Do not wear black pants like I did when working with the white yarn.

Really enjoying knitting with this yarn. It's smooth, soft, doesn't split, and great colors.
