I bought these to use for amigurumi projects, and they’re perfect for that if you’re using worsted weight yarn and have a Palm-sized project. I ended up using a lot of force and the metal stood up well. The bent tip is perfect for sewing on pieces when space is tight. They’re a little too big to be ideal for most of my other crochet projects and too small to be a perfect fit for larger amigurumi projects.
Until I got these, I had only a tapestry needle. The curve on the end makes weaving ends in so much easier I also love they are made of metal. That ensures they will last a long time.
Needles are medal. I prefer the bent tip. Work great for all my crochet projects. Smooth needles glide through all types of yarn and make weaving in ends a breeze. They are larger but work great with sport, dk, worsted and beyond.
These needles are great for bigger projects but if you are using small yarn and are crocheting tightly, these aren't the needles for you. I was a little disappointed in the size of them. I thought that they would be a lot smaller. they work great for big projects. I would not get them again.
I’ve purchased this set of needle’s three times! I know that seems excessive for darning needles but oh my gosh. They are so smooth and sharp. Perfect for sewing ends in. Nobody likes to do that but at least I can use awesome needles!
I used to just my crochet hook to weave in the ends. But I ordered these needles with my kit- I love them. They come in very handy.
