Very rarely will I find a pattern from Lion Brand that didn't work out. After following all of the directions...the center design wasn't in a straight line and one side was shorter than the other. I've been knitting for almost 15 years and I've done more difficult patterns than this one.

I agree with the other review. I am following the directions exactly as stated and the there is a MAJOR curve to the "straight" edge.

It is an asymmetric scarf

I've not yet knitted it, but note the pattern is for an asymmetric scarf. Others I have knitted with similar description and pattern have a curved edge. The advantage is (and why I am considering knitting this one) is that they stay on the shoulders well.

The previous reviewers must have misread or misunderstood the the pattern description - the curved edge is intentional and why, when following the pattern they gave ended up with a curved edge.

In my opinion these scarves/shawls work very well!
