This was a Christmas gift I ordered for myself from my husband, lol. I love the constant color changes and variety of stitches - I tend to lose interest when projects are tedious. The colors in the project photo are a bit more washed out than the actual colors which was a bit of a disappointment for me - I prefer the paler colors of the project photo. However, you can change the colors - definitely go by the lion brand yarn color pics rather than the finished blanket’s colors. That was the only negative of this project for me. I’m about halfway finished and still engaged! I somehow lost track of the color change somewhere in the beginning but kept going and it still looks good! I love that there is an old school diagram as well as written instructions and a YouTube. I find it easier to reference the diagram than follow written instructions. I kept all the colors but am planning to use the cream for the border instead of the blue green. This yarn is soooo easy to work with.
Great instructions but amounts of two colors were underestimated and I had to buy more.

This pattern is an absolute pleasure, and the designer’s method of joining colors is a game changer. I changed the colors to a red and gold focus and it is just stunning. (I used Tawny Port, Cranberry, Arrowwood, Wheat, and Canyon Sunset.) This is made as a gift for my niece and I am confident I will make it again. Wool-ease makes the coziest blankets! Total winner!
This is only my second blanket, but Dani did such a beautiful job with her written pattern, along with video tutorial, that I have been moving along just fine! I actually just got her riverbed cardigan as well because I like this pattern so much! It is really user friendly and after a while you get into the groove and know which row comes next. I will note, I wish you could have chosen different sizes from the dropdown instead of "one size". The quantity of yarn given is for the size, 44"x47" (as mentioned in the product details) but I wanted to make one quite larger than that. Even with manually adding some skeins by my own calculations, I didn't get enough and ended up having to order more yarn. Once I purchased the kit and had her written pattern, she gives you the qualities of each color needed, and alas that's when I learned I didn't have enough. Overall though, it is beautiful and I am really excited to finish and start her cardigan!
I love the wool ease yarn, and picked up this fun kit as another opportunity to work with it!
This is such a fun pattern. I'm only about 25 rows in, but it's been really engaging to be able to switch colours each row. The colours are awesome together too. I'm excited to see it all finished.
