I adore this pattern!

I was so pleased with how this turned out. The scarf was my first attempt at Tunisian crochet, and I’m in love with how it turned out. Part of that was the colors. I used the “blue lagoon” Landscapes colorway with “white sands” Heartland as my neutral, and I kept being surprised over and over every time I picked the project back up how much I loved how it looked. The pattern itself was very easy to follow. Toni has some video tutorials as well, if that’s something you find useful. Even for a rank beginner, I had no difficulty figuring out what to do.

But if any other rank beginners are reading this, here are a few things I didn’t know to expect based on the pictures: 1) the “boxes” of the pattern are open on the sides. From the artfully done pictures, I thought all the “boxes” would be complete with four sides, and that the sides of the scarf would have the neutral color border, just like the ends. At first, I wasn’t super pleased with the unfinished look of having the end boxes only having three sides. When I set out, I assumed I would finish it off by adding a slip stitch border or something to the sides, but the longer I worked on it, the more used to it I got, and by the end I wasn’t bothered by it at all and left it as is. 2) It seems obvious in retrospect, but since this was my first Tunisian project, I wasn’t thinking, but this is a single-sided project. Meaning the back doesn’t look like the front. There’s definitely a right side with the intended pattern and a wrong side that you would turn so it isn’t showing. I loved my colors so much that I wasn’t super bothered by it, but one side is definitely more aesthetically pleasing than the other.

Nice Window Frame Pattern

I love crochet almost as much as TL does (not quite there yet) but I just had to do one of her patterns. I just got the yarn but I'm still waiting for the extended hooks (also ones she recommended). In the meantime I did a swatch with the Black Canyon and Boardwalk and I can't wait to get started. Love her patterns, videos, information, and her!!

Great reason to learn Tunisian Crochet

This is my first project with Tunisian crochet and I couldn't be happier. The pattern is so gorgeous and the instructions are very clear. I lover the yarn choices as well and just went with the preselected colors.

Love this!

I fell in love with this hat and scarf, and learned basic Tunisian crochet to make it. The finished product is every bit as lovely as the picture. I’m making it again in a different color combination.

So beautiful!

I'm new to crochet and Tunisian crochet. I'm loving making this hat and scarf. I finished the hat already and it fits great. I watched TLYarncraft's youtube tutorial to make it. Toni Lipsey is an exceptional crochet teacher over Youtube. She knows just how many times to repeat a step before leaving the learner to follow. She explains all the tricky parts with beginner-friendly language and camera angles. I look forward to finishing the super-long scarf :) I'm 1/3 of the way done.
