Hello friend! I’m Janine, the maker behind Capital Crochet. I dabbled in crochet as a kid with scraps from my mother and grandmother, but picked it up seriously in 2014 so I could make cute hats and blankets for my newborn daughter. I eventually learned how to read a pattern, then started modifying them, and my love of designing blossomed from there! I enjoy creating patterns that look much more intricate than they really are. In 2019 I learned both knitting and Tunisian crochet as well, and I love that there are so many magical textures and unique patterns that can be woven with yarn, hooks and needles. Lovely pattern, poor order fulfillment

4 stars because I discovered while working with my 4th skein that Lion Brand didn't send me all 10 skeins from the same lot! I'm disappointed that Lion Brand would be this careless and that I assumed I shouldn't need to check. As for the pattern, it's been a learning experience working the Tunisian stich but I'm happy with the lovely woven look. The left edge of the blanket is less than perfect (not shown) so I need to watch more tutorials to see if I can make it smoother but I don't think it will look as good as the right edge. The Heartland yarn is soft and a little splitty but very workable. Since the needles aren't available with the pattern I went to Michaels and ordered a Lantern Moon Ebony interchangeable Tunisian crochet hook and cords.
