Pattern Designer Info
Toni Lipsey- TL Yarn Crafts After I've had my morning coffee (at least 2 cups), I spend every possible moment creating new crochet designs, teaching the craft, and connecting with all the makers I possibly can. My favorite things are meeting my Insta-friends in real life, smiling with all my teeth, and adding to my craft stash with frequent trips to my local yarn stores. I share this craft life with my Hubs of 7 years and my feline fur babies Peanut Butter and Sheba.

Nice Pattern to Work New Stitches and Color Combinations

I've been following TL Yarn Crafts for a while, as well as Lion Brands kits, and finally took the plunge on getting this blanket kit. It was easy to change the colors to those that the recipient of this blanket would prefer. What helped me with the gauge was cutting out an 11.5 inch square template from a brown paper bag for the squares. In addition, I put in marks for 35 stitches along an edge, because I struggle with evenly doing a border in preparation for joining. This has really helped me to adjust my hook size to minimize the need for too much blocking. As an experienced crocheter, there are a few favorite go-to stitches that are in my repertoire. This blanket has expanded my "stitch dictionary" and helped me to perfect the color change technique. I've had to frog quite a few of the squares due to gauge or stitch issues, but with a bit of patience, so far, so good.
My palette is: Terracotta, Elephant Grey, Cadet, and Cascade. I'll post photos once the squares are done. So far, 10 of 20 are completed!
