Pattern Designer Information
Jennifer Renaud is a self-taught crafter, of a variety of different crafts and mediums. Her latest passion has been crocheting! Just over a year ago, we moved up to God's country where the winters can be really long. I needed something to do to pass the time and keep me warm, crocheting was just that "thing"! I found that making blankets for wedding gifts, also helped to keep me warm during the day.

Not a happy camper!

I've recently purchased a kit for this article of clothing. Unfortunately, the yarn is disappointing. It is very difficult to crochet with a thin, splitty yarn like this and I think that I am going to have to give up on this project. Using a size 4 and not a 4.5 G hook to work on the ribbing TBL is a chore! The yarn isn't creating a smooth, attractive ribbing. I keep having to rip because the tension is a problem. I can't seem to get a uniform length of nice-looking ribbing. I am an experienced Crocheter so I don't think it's me. I am using a Addi hook.

It might be easier to knit with this yarn but not having fun so far.

Worked up perfectly

Beautiful natural fiber that was easy to work with. I was surprised by the weight of the final piece as it is dense but wears well. I chose the 3x size and had JUST enough yarn to complete (7 skeins) but I did not have enough to finish the armhole edges with sc, so if I create this again in a different color I will get 8 skeins next time. (FYI- I did not experience any stitch count issues.)

count off on larger sizes

The stitch count on larger sizes is not accurate which is not why I rated it low. I could figure that out for myself but I was unable to make the top due to the poor quality of the yarn. It is coarse and terrible to work with. Lion Brand would not allow to return it because I used it. Of course I did...that's how I know it is coarse. I may try this pattern again later with different yarn.

Great summer top

Loved it. Yarn and pattern a joy to work with. I did have to order 2 extra skeins for the large. I’m now making a medium for my sister but ordered extra yarn to be sure to have enough. I like that I don’t have to wear anything under it, close enough pattern.
