The Chia Goo crochet hooks that I purchased were of great quality and will no doubt last for years. I used them with 5 skeins of Lion Brand Chunky Knit Yarn to make this cuddly bath mat.
This is my first ChiaGoo hook; I use the knitting needles. I typically do not like wood hooks or needles but the ChiaGoo isn’t bad. It has a great tip which makes inserting into the stitch easy, and just enough coating that yarn doesn’t stick, it glides. Will give smaller sizes a try.
Ordered this because the project called for it, worked perfectly! Yeah, a little bit of a learning curve to get used to working with such a huge hook, but it did the job, was nice and smooth with the yarn, and once I got the hang of it, was loads of fun. Highly recommend!
The hook is well made with no splinters or anything. The name and hook size is imprinted on the hook also. The only thing is I never had a hook this size and it’s bigger than I expected. I bought it for a size 6 bernat blanket yarn and it seems a little big. Need to see what I can do. But it is nice and very lightweight too.
I used this hook to make a basket with some #7 Jumbo blanket yarn. It worked really well. I also like that the size is clearly etched into the wood.
I prefer the bamboo over plastic. This one is nice and smooth, shaped well, and I love that the tip is pointed rather than round. Great for chunky projects.
