I bought 11 balls to knit a sweater and am disappointed with the quality. The chainette thickness is very irregular and not in the intentional way that some yarn is designed for that natural hand spun look. It is so loose/thin in some spots that it’s disintegrating and coming apart and the result is a very inconsistent knit. The flecked color is infrequent enough to look unintentional or like a mistake, maybe only 4-5 flecks of black per ball and the flecks are very bulky compared to the rest of the chainette. I’m about 3/4 of the way through making this sweater, and I have had issues with every ball. I’m sad that so much time has gone into a project that could have been much cuter if the yarn was more consistent. Otherwise, the yarn is very soft, and you get used to working with it to avoid the chainette splitting, which I saw mentioned in another review.

Chainette yarn

I really like the feel of this yarn. I love the color I chose. Works up easily. Currently working on a sweater.

Great discovery!

I love this yarn! It works up nicely, is lightweight, soft and it is easy to work with. I made a scarf using multiple colors and a Tunisian simple stitch. The drape and feel of this yarn is wonderful. Just wish there were more colors!

Love Chainette yarn!

Just finishing a top with this yarn. The size 9 knitting needles are perfect for this yarn. Not a see through fabric but very light. The kit pattern was too difficult for me, a total beginner knitter, so I used the Classic Knit Top (also a Lion Brand kit) awith the Charente yarn from the Olari kit. Looking forward to wearing my top this spring and summer.

Such a beautiful yarn…

This yarn is soft and airy. It’s so easy to work with. Very luxurious. The colors are prettier in person. Trust me and just buy the yarn.

Soft and lovely

Very nice yarn . I knitted a pullover lions pattern. Number B70394 easy eyelet yolk sweater. I thought it was so pretty. I ordered the cardigan and I’m still working on that. I’m working on the sleeves. Should be finished soon. I went up two sizes on the sleeves. I felt the circumference was very small other than that it came out beautiful.
