Yarn still on back order alternative yarn.

One color I need fora MamaInAStitch pattern (Equinox Striped Blanket) is linen. This is a project for Christmas, so I need to start now. Do you have an alternative wool yarn that is similar to the color linen you can suggest?

Hi Andrea - while we wait for Linen to come back in stock, here are some other worsted yarns in similar shades: Fisherman's Wool in Oatmeal, LBC Merino Yak Alpaca in Oatmeal, Heartland in Wolf Trap, or Pound of Love in Barley.

Can’t review yarn. Colors I need are on back order.

I have a project I would like to start and finish by Christmas. It is an blanket by Mama In A Stitch. She uses 3 colors of wool ease. Linen has been on back order for several months and now Canyon Sunset. My other color is Grey Heather. I hesitate to buy it because I don’t know about my other colors. Why does it take so long to get the yarn in and when do you expect the yarn? I love this blanket pattern but may need to find another pattern. Can you please give me some idea when the yarn will be available? Thank you.

Hello Andrea - our apologies for the extended out of stock status on some yarns and colors. Unfortunately we're still experiencing production delays as well as shipping delays, which have impacted the restock dates of many yarns. We're working to get more yarn in stores and in our warehouse as quickly as possible, and appreciate your patience!

Wash at your own risk

Loved this yarn when I got it and it knits up beautifully. It was easy to work with and very even throughout the skein. I made two queen sized blankets with it. The blankets came out fantastic....until I washed them. This is the part that was very disappointing it does not wash like they say it does. It pills and felts a lot after just the first wash and my beautiful blankets look terrible now. I washed on the gentle cycle and dried them in the dryer. My blankets are pretty much ruined at this point after only one washing. I will say the color stayed well when I washed it there was no bleeding or fading so that part was good but the texture and look of the yarn changes drastically once washed. If I use this yarn again I would try washing and then hanging up to dry or perhaps even hand washing to prevent this disaster from happening again. There are so many reasons to love this yarn if only it would stay nice after washing. I would highly recommend washing gently and not according to the directions on the yarn.

Hello Janelle - we're sorry to hear about this issue! While Wool-Ease can be machine washed & dried, many factors can affect how it looks after that process. An item with an open stitch pattern or a loose gauge will have more room for the stitches to move around, creating more friction and fuzziness or pilling. Washing the item separately is also best, as other items will increase the agitation and friction on the fibers. If you have one, a mesh bag for washing can keep the item contained and separate in the washer.
If you're able to, laying the item flat to dry is preferable, as the high heat of the dryer is where many fabrics will pill and begin to break down. 10-15 minutes on low heat can be used to finish the drying process and fluff up the item.

great yarn!

This is one of my favorite yarns! I love making hats, socks and mittens with this yarn. It has 20% wool for warmth and 80% acrylic for machine wash and dry. What a great combo! Thanks LB!
