Strawberry Swirls Ice Cream Baby Blanket (Crochet)

SKU: 4015

Crocheted in the Basic Moss Stitch worked in the round, this baby blanket grows outward in a charming square format. Made with Lion Brand Ice Cream Big Scoop yarn in the playful Strawberry colorway, its self-striping blend of fuchsia, soft pink, and creamy white creates gentle color changes without the need to switch skeins. The moss stitch adds subtle texture and softness, making it cozy yet lightweight. Easy to care for, this blanket is both machine washable and dryable—perfect for everyday snuggles, stroller rides, or as a thoughtful gift.

Badly written pattern

"Do not work a SC. Simply begin with a SC in the corner space just created." Rounds 2, 3, and 4 start with this quote. So I do not work a sc but I do work a sc? Does this mean SC in the corner space? The stich before is a HDC. I don't know why each row ends with a HDC. If you turn your work at the end of each row it adds the needed height. Putting the HDC in just seemed to make the work lopsided, so I pulled it out and looked up a moss stich blanket pattern online. If I had turned the work at the end of each row I might have got more color blocks instead of just stripping. The pattern for the optional edging does not give instructions on how to deal with the corners. The only picture is the one used to sell the pattern, so I don't know if the origial pattern had the same problem with the middle that mine does. The square doesn't square up in the middle. I got purple ice cream yarn instead of strawberry.
