Before I began crocheting again I rarely used acrylics. Ince I started trying some I found that many are rough and have a cheap plastic feel. Then I tried Lion Brand. Pound of Love and Heartland are super soft and supple. They look nice and wooly too.
I recently bought 4 skeins od P of L. I really like it!! Lion Brand has somehow created quality acrylics at a very good price.
The messy yarn barf when starting to pull the skein is the only reason for the 4 review.
Other than the excellent quality of this yarn, what I love the most is not having to attach new skeins of yarn to my large projects every few minutes. These skeins go on for a looooong time. Highly recommend!
Making myself the Lion Brand Pound of Love Textured Stick Poncho (Pattern # L60409). Love the colors, feel and the weight. Received Straw color with the Secret Stash bag last year, purchased Pumpkin Spice color to make this poncho. Colors really compliment each other.
Love pound of love
I had worked with this yarn before and found it to be so nice to crochet with and the colour selection is lovely. Its nice having the larger skeins to work with for big projects without having lots of joins from using smaller skeins. Making an afghan for my daughter in her choice of colours which was the beautiful Pink Salt and Antique White and decided to purchase a yarn kit from Lion Brand Yarn and was able to customize the colours we wanted. This yarn was perfect choice for the pattern as it will be nice and warm for winter.
I have used this yarn for making blankets and other smaller projects. It is a nice yarn and works up easily. I love that the skeins are so large! My latest project is a pumpkin hat for the newest addition to our family.
