My First Cardigan (Crochet)

This is the everyday cardigan — the one that goes over everything. It is worked top-down from a single chain at the shoulders, in one stitch and one colour, with no seams anywhere and nothing sewn: pockets, bands and all.
The back grows down from the top of that chain, both fronts from its underside, and the three become one at the underarm. Sleeves are picked up and worked in the round; the hem, cuffs and front band are ribbing joined on as you go.
Nine sizes, XS through 5X. Hip-covering length, two built-in pockets and a tie belt — no buttons. Shown in Lion Brand Heartland.
