Beautiful blanket but not very cozy

When I first saw this kit I loved the mix of colors and stitches. Having worked on it for the past week progress is slow. Six hours of work generates 7 inches of blanket. Several of the stitches overlap previous rows so the blanket works up rather stiff. It doesn’t have nice drape. I’m nearing the end of the last set of repetitions and the blanket is not that big. Need to determine if I will have enough yarn to add another repeat of rows but also need enough to complete the fringe. I should have paid more attention to the stitches on the picture before purchasing.
