Mandala String

I haven’t worked with this weight of yarn much, but I’m using it to make an infinity scarf. The feel is wonderful, soft & light, & the color transitions are so nice. Can’t wait to use it this fall!

Love this BUT.....

Currently working up the Country Sunset Top. Loving the pattern and the yarn color effects so far, BUT, the yarn itself is very hard to work with. The skein falls apart on itself no matter if inside pull (which is a huge yarn barf) or outside pull. I have spent countless hours untangling. I caked my remaining skeins and hit took me several hours!!!! If LB can solve that problem , I will change to 5 stars!!!!

Mandala String

I have been learning/experimenting with lighter yarns this summer to beat the heat! I am a big fan of mandala, and the colors for string are great. I’ve already ordered a few more color ways so I can get some summerly shawls in different colors. This yarn is more stiff like a nylon crochet thread, it’s probably comparable to a 3 in crochet thread. Does not have give like the regular cake mandala a bit tough on the hands. Regardless, its an overall win for me… I like being able to have some weight on my shoulders and not get too hot in the summer. Tinkerbell also approves!

So cute

This yarn really does look like string! I like it a lot, and I can't wait to get started on a new project with it. I also plan to order more!

Mandala String Yarn

I completely agree with the review from another reviewer. Love/hate relationship. It needs someway to locate end of yarn in center because working from the outside-in the yarn "melts" into a tangled mass. It took me 11 HOURS to untangle the knotted tangled mess it turned into. I made a GORGEOUS shawl in MIXTAPE (the pictures don't do it justice) with it the first time and loved it so much I ordered 3 skeins of every color (that was before the knotted, tangled mess happened-almost causing me to return it all). I love all the colors and the way it worked up.

Love-Hate relationship...a tape on the center pull end start would help avoid a tangled mess

I love the finished projects with Mandala String, the color transitions and the weight for garments. That said, it's hit or miss with using the yarn because it can pull beautifully from the skein at it's best, but too often it is a mess to untangle because of looking for the inside end pull or just tipping the skein over. A simple tab on the inside pull would easily prevent the tangle mess, but when you hunt for the end in the skein, you take a risk of really messing up the yarn. I spent hours in this project just getting the yarn detangled so I could use it. When it works, it's a pleasure. When it tangles, it is distressing.
