So soft!

I received this yarn in an Instagram giveaway, but am reviewing of my own free will. I haven’t started my project yet but I keep glancing at it longingly while I work on my current WIPs. I got the Sage and Cherry Blossom colors and they look just like their photos. They are equally smooth and soft, and they are a true worsted weight. I’m excited to get working with them!

10/10!!

10/10! Local Grown exceeded all of my expectations, and will now be yet another favorite LB yarn in my collection. For a 100% wool yarn, is it not scratchy at all. It is very soft, has great stitch definition, and has an amazing line of colors that all work really well together. The icing on the cake is that is it also 100% made in the USA! I already have more that I can't wait to use this fall and winter.

(Not just) Great for Fulling!

You will love this wool if you like all things natural. The colors are gorgeous, the spun is even. It is not as soft as merino, but has a great hand that I think will do well for cardigans, shawls, blankets, and such.
I put the yarn to the test because I wanted to see if it fulls well, and sure enough it does!
So, if you don't want it fulled ... definitely hand-wash and lay flat to dry. But if you want to full it for coasters, hot pads, table runners, bags, and such ... I just threw mine in the laundry with towels and jeans and ran it through a regular cycle. It came out nicely fulled, and I let it air dry to shape. I made this fall candle holder with Maple and Moss. (did I say that I love all the colors?).
Summary: If a good wool is what you are looking for, I can highly recommend Local Grown.

Affordable wool for felting

Love this yarn for felting projects but have also used it for hats and scarves. Not scratchy and the color selection is good. Wish the skeins were larger though for bigger projects so there are less joins
