Hard to understand / body length runs small

This pattern/sweater looks easy; stitches are easy, but instructions could be simpler especially when pattern is classified as beginner/easy. Pattern instructions are unclear at times. Followed instructions and sweater was short. Made size M, sleeve length and shoulders were correct length, body length with measurements included in pattern was short, more like cropped. Pattern does not include sizing for men or women. Expected better from Lion Brand, all other patterns have worked well for me.

Conversion of yarn due to unavailability of suggested yarn wasn’t enough. Even though sweater was shoes, I barely had enough. Had to adjust length of body and needed to buy an extra skein.
