This pattern was easy to follow & to make, & of course I loved the feel of knitting with Feels Like Butta yarn. But the finished product was SO elegant & professional-looking. When I showed the completed blanket to my husband—who pays NO attention to any of my knitting— he said, “I think that’s the most beautiful thing you’ve ever made.”😳😂 I chose the bright yellow, white & cocoa (on the small stripes) for a baby girl with a sunflower-themed room, & the new mother loved it!💛🌻
Got this kit to make for one of my friends sister. I did take other reviews advice, and used a larger needle size, which I also like the drape more with the size 8. I am also a tight knitter. Easy knit, and love how it turned out overall
I don't knit very often, so I practically have to retrain myself with each project. The yarn kept slipping off my metal circular needles, so I found a set of circular bamboo needles that seem to grip cotton yarn better than metal needles. This is my first project with this smaller size yarn, but there is enough of the C pattern color to allow for a single color swatch; which I am knitting to restore my knitting muscle memory. Also, like other reviewers, the declared needle size seems a bit small so I am currently using a size 6 needle. Will probably move up to a size 8 needle because I have rather tight tension when I start a new project. "I Wanna Knit A Baby Blanket" is an easy and attractive pattern which I am sure my Grand Daughter and Great Grandchild will enjoy.
I made this as my first blanket for my first born grandson. It is his favorite blanket. Medium in weight. Buttery soft. Pattern is easy and fun to make.
I second Cheryl's review... a size 5 needle seems incorrect for this! I checked my gauge and also ended up with a more accurate gauge using a size 8 needle.
Hi Kerry - The needle in the pattern is based on what the designer used, and they may have a particularly loose knitting gauge. We're glad to hear that you found a needle size that let you match the blocked pattern gauge and hope that you enjoy the finished blanket.
This pattern is as cute as can be.
I started with a size 6 needle which is a bit larger than the pattern calls for...a size 5. Even a size 6 didn't get close to the gauge. I ended up using a size 8 circular needle.
Knitter beware....size 5 a very incorrect size needle.
