I loved working with this yarn and I love love love the finished bag!!

Pattern not working

This pattern is not working for me. I followed the pattern as written, used the Hue + Me yarn, size 6.5 hook. I did not want to stop and redo even though I could see that the bag was getting too wide. When I finished the row 13 repeat, the bag was 22 inches wide and it's supposed to be 18 inches. The instructions do not say to crochet extra tight so I would say a size 6.5 hook is too large. Are there further instructions? I just pulled it all out to start over.

Hi DRB - did you make a gauge swatch and were you able to match the blocked gauge given in the pattern? That's most often the issue when items aren't coming out to be the size they should. You may need to use a smaller hook if your bag is turning out too large.

I need help!

I can't for the life of me understand the "extended sides" directions. please help! "lay bag flat and place markers....in from each side on both front and back..." front and back? front and back of what? It goes on to say, "there should be approx. 5.5" centered between the markers on the front and back." please help! I love the bag and yarn....I want to give it to my daughter for a spring bag....

Hi Mary - since the bag is a circle before you start the extended sides you can fold it however you like to make the front and back of the bag. You may want to put the 'seam' where the rounds join to the side or back of the bag. Once you've laid the bag flat you'll place 4 markers as directed, then you'll build up the sides of the back between the sets of markers, leaving the middle space on the front and back open for the handle.

Love the Designer, Pattern, Yarn!

I’m almost finished with this project and am really enjoying working it! The yarn is so easy to work with and comes in such great neutral colors; the pattern is easy to follow, and the finished product looks amazing! I’m probably going to try everything from Two of Wands and Hue + Me yarn.
