Nice pattern but directions not complete

I was looking for a simple t shirt sweater pattern and this fits the bill. I like it as a top down raglan sleeve but the directions tell you to start with the shorter needle but never tell you when to switch to the longer one. I am part way down so far so good. I think I would have preferred to have the neck ribbing in a one size smaller needle so it would be a little less floppy. Will see how the rest turns out and decide if hem and sleeve ribbing would benefit from smaller needle.
