Crochet Kit - Mercantile Cardigan

SKU: B70635

The Mercantile Cardigan is a mysterious make that will soon become your go-to sweater. Wear it with the regular front side of Tunisian simple stitch facing out for more distinct stripes or choose the backside of the fabric for a look that resembles knit garter stitch.

Wanted This To Work So Much!

I give up. Second pattern from this designer I've bought and second time was unable to follow. She just isn't for me. Doesn't explain things so that I can understand. How the main body of the sweater is constructed was not explained and very confusing. I stared at that picture for so long trying to figure out what she was doing. Again no video tutorial so that I can "see" what she is writing about. I literally spent days of reading & rereading and looking online to decipher this pattern. First the ribbing in a 6.5 mm hook and the body in a 8 mm hook does not work. The ribbing is so tight & dense then the body is so loose and thin that the ribbing comes out as think huge thick bulky mass of yarn. In addition, the Tss with the color changes is NOT reversible as the designer states. The “wrong side” is such a mess as it normally is. I would of frogged the ribbing as well & just tossed the pattern completely but Ferris Wheel yarn is a misery to frog & would of been double the misery with the ribbing in the smaller hook. Pattern is written so convoluted and so many words that really don’t tell you anything.

Beautiful colors for cardigan

I love Ferris wheel yarn. I have made other projects with it and love the different assortment. Going to give this a shot with Tunisian crochet. Looks too nice to pass up.
