Torn

While I loved the final result and look of my knitted vest, I am torn due to the process. The yarn has a muted color and is a light but rustic feel. My main issue is the fluff and fiber that is everywhere. I have never used a yarn with so much fiber fall out all over. This one is by far the most. I have a white dest and the yarn was in red and I swiffered my desk multiple times a day and I feel like it was not enough. I feel like one of thise nail dust fans would be great if it could suck up all that fiber. The stitches looked great and it blocked out nicely. I made the tied vest pattern from lion brand and it is a great pattern and look. The pattern was written very well and super easy to follow.

Cotton Hemp Yarn first use

This yarn worked well for what I needed. I started a craft using the Hemp yarn which was discontinued. I understand why because the strands separated easier which made it hard to use. The new Cotton Hemp is much easier to use and worked up nicely, I had to use the two different yarns to make the project which was a bag for a friend. I still have to make the handle.

First time for cotton hemp

Purchased the cotton hemp as part of the Tide and Texture cal I participated in. The pattern was great and easy to follow, but I am not a fan of the yarn used. It was more like colored string and did split. I will make this shawl again but with either Vannas Choice or Wool Ease yarn.

Great surprise

I ordered the yarn for the mystery make along pattern. Loved it and enjoying the process. Soft yarn and easy to crochet

Summer time yarn

This yarn is a wonderful option for working projects during the heat. It is light and soft, and has been knitting up easily. I look forward to using it again. I can see using it for a swim cover up.

Give this yarn a chance...

When my first order for this yarn arrived, I was excited to try it on a specific crochet project. I started the project and quickly became frustrated with it's initial performance–it is prone to splitting. The feel of the yarn and fabric it creates is wonderful and I was determined to overcome the splitting issue. I'm glad I did as I found that by simply changing my hook to a more rounded tip did the trick, and the project is coming along great! I would recommend this yarn with that caveat. While I haven't yet tried to knit with Cotton Hemp yet, I'll definitely start with blunt/rounded needles. If you're looking for a natural-fiber yarn that produces a great feeling fabric with good stitch definition, you've found it. I have purchased this yarn several times... I think it is becoming a stash staple.
