I am just starting the Stevie Shawl with this yarn. I can tell the drape is going to be fabulous. I am downgrading it one star just for the splittiness of the yarn. For me personally, that is not a deterrent to using the yarn, but I know a lot of people would be bothered by that. I am using a Clover Amour hook, which I think works best with yarns that tend to split. Despite the splitting, I would still recommend this yarn and do plan to use it for other projects.
This is a beautiful yarn to work with. I made the kit, Stevie Fringed Shawl, with the copper colored yarn called cider. I didn’t put the fringe on and I joined the squares as I went instead of joining them at the end. I thought the joining strand looked messy. I will make both the pattern and use the yarn again. Unlike another user, I don’t remember any knots in the skeins I used.
LOVE this yarn. Soft, great stitch definition, beautiful color (I purchased Cider). As other reviewers noted it can be a bit splitty, but I found it easy to adjust to. It's working up with a good drape, and based on my washed and blocked sample I think it'll wear well. I'm already planning on buying more for future projects!
…the KNOTS.
I ordered something like 12 or 15 skeins for a few projects. The yarn is soft, beautiful, amazing colors. I had minimum 3-5 knots in each of the 5 skeins I’ve used so far. Pull from inside or outside, use a yarn winder and make into cakes, whatever you try, be ready for KNOTS.
I love the yarn enough to cut them out and keep working, against my better judgement.
Nice soft yarn. Just started making the tee, easy stitch and works up nicely. Can’t wait to finish and wear it.
My friend requested a cotton & merino blend for a cardigan I was planning to make her. I gave Cottino a try and it is so soft with almost a hint of a silky feel. I do like it and it is crocheting up nicely, however I took one star off due to it being quite splitty. It does a lot better if held double, as I wound up needing to do to achieve the correct gauge, but if you have to take any of your work out, it does not hold its spin very well at all.
