Not an accurate color match

This yarn is great, and exactly what I was looking for to make a sweater. EXCEPT, the color is waaaaaay different than how it appears online. I bought thistle as it appears as a bright cobalt-y blue online. However, the actual yarn is definitely purple. Almost like a blue-ish lavender. To be fair, thistle IS a purple flower....but the swatches online are undeniably blue. I'll find something to use this for, but it won't work for what I purchased it for.

Hi Annika - our apologies that this color won't work for your project! We do our best to represent colors as accurately as possible on screen, but differences in lighting, monitor settings, and color perception, as well as dye lot, can make a color appear differently in person versus on screen. We hope you're able to find the perfect project for this blue-purple color.

Beautiful & Soft Yarn, But Difficult to Crochet With

This yarn is beautiful & silky sift but the loose ply, combined with the slipperly nature of the naterials will make it difficult to crochet with. The yarn itself is really nice & not neccesarily marketed specifically for crocheting, so I can't really leave a negative review of the yarn itself, but I wouldnt recommend it for (crochet) beginners or people inexperienced with working with splitty yarns. It makes a great embroidery yarn & possibly other details of Amigurumi pieces, but the splitty nature of the loose ply results in "stringy" looking crochet stitches.

Even if you're good at crocheting with loosely plied or splitty yarns, the bamboo fibers make it slippery (especially on notably smooth hooks) so REALLY not recommended for crocheting, but it is a high quality, soft yarn that might work well for other types of projects.

I tried to challenge myself to crochet with it & had to do almost every stitch at least twice to grab all the threads & make sure I wasnt pulling wrong threads through. You can see in the photo with the hook that the working yarn is plied, but as soon as its on the hook (2.75 Tulip Etimo Red), it naturally starts to seperate (This was a "clean" pull through, the hook stab or poke at the yarn to cause the split).

While I'd give it 1 of 5 stars for crocheting, its not being marketed as a "crochet" yarn, so I dont think its fair to review on this aspect alone. As a yarn itself, its really beautiful & soft, & high quality and probably has a lot of great non-crochet uses, so I rate it 4 stars overall.

Love this yarn

This yarn is soft, with a beautiful drape if you are making a scarf, sweater etc. I've recommended it to several of my friends. It's not weighty either. Love Truboo!
