Soft and a little squishy, this yarn was a delight to work with. I bought it at first to make a glow in the dark pokemon plushie, and ended up making multiple and a hat, haha! Inspired me to look into some different tube/chainette yarns because I liked the feel and stitch definition of this yarn so much. And the GLOW! So cool!! Just put it under some light to charge it up (if you shine your phone flashlight at it for a little bit this works too) and it will glow, like glow in the dark stars.
(in the picture, the only non-glow yarn is the first yellow I used on the left which was more color-accurate to the pokemon; then I just said whatever i like the glow yarn haha and used the yellow glow yarn in the other two)
I used the DIY Glow yarn with the Wool Ease yarn to knit the Helmetta Hat. Instructions very easy to follow. The yarn will glow when held to the light. I wish it would just glow. The hat came out so very CUTE!!!
Good for creating "glow in the dark" crochet accents. Small yardage. Made a Christmas "snowflake" scarf for a friend.
This yarn is thicker than other Lion Brand worsted weight yarns, so expect to compensate with a different hook or tension if you are crocheting a piece that combines other yarn types with it. Having said that, it is very easy to crochet with and I wish it came in a larger skein for making costumes and other garments. It's costly for the size of the skein and best to buy when on sale. It glows in the dark very nicely when exposed to bright light or sunlight. The photo of the Rib Cage Riot by Making Things Knotty was taken in the closet after being outdoors on a cloudy day.
I am in love with this yarn! I'm making a beanie with marching dinosaurs across it & this yarn is an excellent yarn for the dinosaurs. It's, of course, of the highest quality yarn I expect from Lion Brand. Anything & everything I make I first see if Lion Brand has the yarn for it, even if the pattern calls for a different brand. It's my most trusted yarn.
I'm using it for glow in the dark amigurumi! it looks lovely and its easy to work with!
