Super Soft

My friend requested a cotton & merino blend for a cardigan I was planning to make her. I gave Cottino a try and it is so soft with almost a hint of a silky feel. I do like it and it is crocheting up nicely, however I took one star off due to it being quite splitty. It does a lot better if held double, as I wound up needing to do to achieve the correct gauge, but if you have to take any of your work out, it does not hold its spin very well at all.

Didn't know if I'd like it... SURPRISE!

Originally I purchased this yarn because the kit was on sale (Crochet Kit - Suvi Summer Cardigan). I found it while browsing some kits from another designer. I liked that the yarn is a weight 3 (my favorite living in the south, especially), it is washable, and is a blend of cotton and merino yarn. Merino blends are my absolute favorites!

The yarn is soft but not fluffy or silky, it's a breathable perfect texture for a cardigan or even a blanket. It does a split a little bit, but that's to be expected from pretty much any yarn that is separate strands since the winding twists them one way and then crochet twists them the other way, splitting them apart. (Maybe one day someone will bring back a yarn like z-twist that was the same direction as crochet... but I digress...)

The stitch definition is excellent and the yarn does not stretch (or not much at all from what I've seen). The yarn slides nicely on my hook and around my finger, with just enough grab to prevent it from sliding off like some of the really slippery ones tend to do.

The color I purchased is "powder" (default for the kit) and the online color square is pretty accurate. I'll include a photo of my WIP to show the stitch definition and hopefully the color. Two photos were taken next to a single lamp, so the the room is rather dim. The brighter two have the overhead light on. Keep in mind, as we all know, lighting matters so very much with color choices, especially online. If you are on the fence regarding color, go with the color swatch in the listing.

If you are on the fence, you should buy it! I know I'll be coming back for more!

Great summer option

I love this yarn! I used the jam colorway and started by making a headscarf: nip it in the bud. I liked it so much I bought more for a tank top. Lightweight and soft with a lovely marled effect. Perfect for summer garments

Lovely yarn

I have never crocheted with a cotton/merino blend yarn. I liked it. I made the method tote with it so far, using 5 colors. I liked the color choices, and hopefully there will be more colors added in the future. It is soft, but has structure. It was a bit splitty, but I got used to that with time. Next I am going to crochet a wearable with it.

Loved this yarn!

I used this to make a baby blanket using the color straw. This was my first project of this scale and I enjoyed working with this yarn. Sometimes the yarn would split but it was easy to fix and I got used to working with it. It ended up being a beautiful blanket and softened up even more with a wash. I loved that it has the option to machine wash and dry! I am planning on making another blanket and I am excited to use this yarn in other colors as well!

So soft!

I love the blend of natural fibers at a reasonable price. The yarn was so soft to work with. I can't wait to wear the bandana that I am crocheting!
