I ordered this yarn to make the Lotus beach bag. I was surprised by how soft it was when it arrived, given that it almost gives a straw like appearance. It is very smooth and easy on the hands, very pleasant to work with. My only complaint is that I see this yarn being used on quite a few bags, and, including for the beach bag I made, it stretches quite a bit once the bag is used. Given the stretch, I wish this had been taken into account for the length of the strap. (Please also note the instructions for the strap for the Lotus pattern are a bit confusing, but I muddled through.) Since using, I have to use the strap as a crossbody or it is far too long. I think this yarn might work better with lined bags or small bags where the weight isn’t so much. The photos hopefully depict the difference in the strap before and after first use. If I re-made I would reduce the strap length by 30% or line with canvas. The body of the bag would also benefit from a lining.
This raffia type yarn is a dream to work with. I've crocheted 4 hats and 1 bag with it and just had to order more. I hope more colors will be developed in the future.
Fabulous yarn that's perfect for hats and any projects that need a bit of structure. It feels great to work with, and while you wear it. The color choices are beautiful and subtle.

I had never used rewind yarn before making my first purse. I immediately fell in love with the soft texture and how easy it was to work with. The pattern called for using two strands, so it was easy to take two strands from each ball and begin! There were no pieces tied together, as others have stated in their reviews. It was smooth sailing. My purse is gorgeous. I used the willow color, which is a soft brown. My daughter now wants me to make her one in citronella! I highly recommend Lion Brand Rewind Yarn. You can't go wrong!
