Rnd 6 (RS): From RS, join B with a sl st to an unworked loop from Rnd 3 7 that is on the inside of the pouch, above a sc between two shells. Ch 1, sc in each loop around; join with sl st in first st - 40 sc.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

sc2tog (sc 2 sts together) (Insert hook in next st and draw up a loop) twice, yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook – 1 st decreased.

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across, turn.
Rows 2-4: Ch 1, sc in each st across – 16 sts.

You will now change to working in rnds.
On Rnd 1, you will be working around the base.
Rnd 1 (RS): Ch 1, sc in each st across (16 sts worked along the side of base); working across short end, work 4 sc evenly spaced; working along opposite side of foundation ch, sc in each ch (16 sc); then work 4 sc evenly spaced across remaining short end; join with sl st in first st – 40 sts.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in each st around, join with sl st in first st.

Rnd 20: Ch 1, *[sc in next st, skip next st, dc 5 in next st, skip next st] 4 times, sl st in next 2 sts; rep from * once; join with sl st in first st – 8 shells.
Fasten off.

Flaps
Note:
Rows 1-15 are repeated on each half of the Pouch, to create the flaps that will be sewn into the metal frame.
Row 1: From RS, join E with a sl st to an unworked loop from Rnd 18 that is on the right hand side of one set of 4 shells.
Note: Count out from the center, between second and third shell, to 8 sts out – the flaps will be 16 sts wide.
Ch 1, sc in same loop and next 15 loops, turn – 16 sts.
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.
Row 3: Ch 1, working through front loops only, sc in each st across, turn.
Row 4: Ch 1, [sc in next st, skip next st, dc 5 in next st, skip next st] 3 times, sc in next st, skip next st, dc 5 in next st, sc in last st – 4 shells.
Fasten off.
Row 5: With F, join with a sl st to second unworked loop of Row 2, sc in same st and next 13 sts, turn – 14 sts.
Row 6: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn – 14 sts.
Row 7: Ch 1, working through front loops only, sc in each st across, turn – 14 sts.
Row 8: Ch 1, sc in first st, skip next st, dc 5 in next st, skip next st, sc in next st, skip next st, dc 3 in next st, dc 2 in next st, skip next st, sc in next st, skip next st, dc 5 in next st, skip next st, sc in last st – 3 shells.
Fasten off.
Row 9: From RS, join G with a sl st to first unworked loop of Row 30, ch 1, sc in each loop across, turn – 14 sts.
Rows 10-12: Rep Rows 6-8 – 3 shells.
Fasten off.
Row 13: From RS, join H with sl st to second unworked loop of Row 35, sc in same st and in next 11 sts, turn – 12 sts.
Rows 14 and 15: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.
Fasten off.
Rep Rows 1-15 on other side of Pouch.

FINISHING
Edging Rnd 1:
From RS, join H with sl st to any st along opening of Pouch, work sc evenly spaced around opening, working a sc2tog over the unworked sts between the flaps (from Rnd 20) on each side; join with sl st in first st.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in each st around; join with sl st in first st.
Fasten off.
Thoroughly wet pouch with cool water and shape as desired.
Air dry.
Starting in the middle, sew each side of the frame to half of the Pouch, stretching the flaps to fill the frame as you sew them in.
Weave in ends.
