Beaded Rib Mug Cozy

Lion Brand® Heartland

GAUGE:

19 sts + 26 rows = about 4 in. (10 cm) in Beaded Rib.

When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Making a Gauge Swatch

STITCH EXPLANATION:

Yo (yarn over)
A way to create a small decorative hole (eyelet) in the fabric, worked as follows:
1. Bring yarn to front, between the needles.
2. Take yarn to back, over the right needle. You are now ready to proceed with the next st as instructed.

PATTERN STITCH
Beaded Rib
Row 1:
*K1, p1; rep from * across row.
Row 2: Purl.
Rep Rows 1 and 2 for Beaded Rib.

COZY

Next (Buttonhole) Row: K2tog, yo, work in pattern as established to end of row.
Continue to work in pattern as established until piece measures about 3 1/2 in. (9 cm) from beg.

FINISHING

Beaded Rib Mug Cozy Reviewed by Diane Seney on 2014-11-22 *****
Love it and it's EASY too! Tho, before completing it, check the size of your mug so it fits it and be sure the buttons work in the right places!!! All mugs are different in size so I had to make some VERY minor adjustments pending the mug I used! If you want to bring a nice gift to someone's house, take this idea, put it w/some mugs and add some tea or coffee and BINGO! You have a Wonderful gift to give that didn't take much time or money to do or use! Good for using up some extra yarn that you didn't have use for earlier too!
