Lace Edged Poncho

Lion Brand® Vanna's Choice® - Vanna's Palettes

GAUGE:

11 sc + 8 rows = about 4 in. (10 cm) in Stripe pattern.

When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Making a Gauge Swatch

STITCH EXPLANATION:

picot Ch 3, sl st in 3rd ch from hook.

NOTES:

1. Poncho is worked from top to lower edge.
2. Rnds 1-19 are turned; remaining rnds are not turned.
3. To change color, work last st of old color to last yarn over. Yarn over with new color and draw through all loops on hook to complete the st. Proceed with new color.

Lace Edged Poncho Reviewed by Emma Johnson on 2014-11-04 *****
I made this for my daughter with Vanna's choice yarn in shades of blue. Three colors, navy to the lighter hues of blue. They matched beautifully. I decided to keep the colors classic for versatility. My daughter loves it. The Navy blue was placed at the neck and lace work. The lighter blue colors were in between. Will make again for someone special. This is a great pattern.
