LOVE THE LOOK OF THE PATTERN. BUT AM KNITTING NOW AND HAVING 2 THOUGHTS AS I DO.
SO I HAVE DECIDED TO DO ALL SOLID FOR THE 1ST ONE ( I REALLY LIKE THE LOOK). I DID NOT LIKE THE LOOK OF THE GARTER KNIT SECTION UP CLOSE SO I AM DOING SOLID. ALSO
MISREAD THE INSTRUCTION BUT HAVE FIXED. THINK AT BIT HARD TO READ SO THINK IT THOUGH BEFORE YOU START.
I LIKE THE LOOK - YES SAID THIS BEFORE. HOPE TO WEAR TOMORROW IN SOME VARIATION.

Nice pattern!

I used a different, super bulky yarn I had left from another project instead of the suggested yarn. The directions were easy to follow, and it turned out as pictured. It is a nice hat for something different, and my son loves it. It keeps him very warm, and he likes to wear it around the house too. It certainly doesn't get mixed up with other hats at school either!
