Cross-Stitched Cloths
Lion Brand® Kitchen Cotton - Bonbons
GAUGE: 14 hdc and 10 rows = 4 in. (10 cm). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

CLOTH (make 3)
With A, ch 24.
Row 1 (RS): Hdc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across - 22 sts.
Row 2: Ch 2, turn, hdc in each st across. Rep Row 2 until piece measures about 6 1/2 in. (16.5 cm) from beg.
Do not fasten off.
FINISHING
Edging
Ch 1, turn, work sc evenly spaced around edge working 3 sc in each corner; join with slip stitch in beg ch. Fasten off.
Weave in ends.
Embroidery
Note: Embroidery was designed to be freeform, placed randomly on Cloths.
With B colors as desired, embroider with cross sts and straight sts. |
