Hooded Poncho
Lion Brand® Luxe Fur
GAUGE: 7 sts + 13 rnds = 4 in. (10 cm) in St st worked in the rnd (k every rnd). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION: | M1 (make 1) An increase worked by lifting horizontal thread lying between needles and placing it onto left needle. Knit this new stitch through the back loop - 1 st increased. |
NOTES: 1. Poncho is worked in the rnd on a circular needle and on double pointed needles, from the lower edge to top of hood.
2. When changing from circular needle to double pointed needles (and vice versa) don't forget to transfer your end of rnd marker.
3. The hood is shaped with short rows. Short rows are rows that are worked over a portion of the sts in a row, leaving the remaining sts unworked. To work short rows, the pattern instructions will tell you to 'turn' before you reach the end of the row.
4. The edge of the hood will roll naturally to create an edging.

| Used Homespun instead. My daughter didn't like the way the hood turned out so I ripped it out. She liked it a lot as a turtleneck poncho though! As a novice it turned out well as a t-neck. Looking for another pattern to make a hooded poncho like my daughter wanted.
