Miniature Holiday Hat

Lion Brand® Martha Stewart CraftsTM/MC Roving Wool

GAUGE:

Exact gauge is not essential to this project.

NOTES:

Materials are sufficient to make several hats.

HAT
Cast on 10 sts.
Row 1 (WS): Purl.
Row 2: K1, k2tog, k to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1 – 8 sts at the end of this row.
Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until 4 sts remain.
Next Row: (K2tog) twice – 2 sts.
Bind off, leaving a long yarn tail.


FINISHING
Sew long sides to make a cone shape.
Brim
With white yarn, whip stitch around cast-on edge.
Top Knot
With white yarn, embroider a loose French knot at the top of the hat.
Weave in ends.

So easy, and only takes a few minutes to complete! I cast on 18 sts instead of 10, to fit a small doll, but i guess you could alter this pattern to fit any size. I crocheted around the bottom instead of sewing :-)
