Inspired by Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, this wand is a fast and easy project for any witch or wizard, made simply by wrapping and gluing yarn around a dowel. Perfect for Halloween costumes too!

Additional Materials 1/4 in. (6 mm) wood dowel, 15 in. (35.5 cm) long

Exact gauge is not essential to this project.
WAND Apply a small amount of glue to the tip and first 1 in. (2.5 cm) of the dowel. Wrap yarn around the dowel over glued area. Continue to apply glue to one section of dowel at a time and wrap with yarn until the dowel is covered. Every 3 or 4 in. (7.5 to 10 cm) continue to wrap in one spot to create ‘knots’. Glue and wrap a second layer over the last 6 in. (15 cm) for handle. Allow to dry.

This is an easy but wonderful project. Turns out looking like the wand should. Our grandson who is a big Harry Potter fan loved it. Be sure to make one, you'll be glad you did. It's great!
