GAUGE:
17 sts + 24 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION:
M1 (make 1) An increase worked by lifting the horizontal thread lying between needles and placing it onto left needle. Knit this new stitch through the back loop - 1 st increased.
PATTERN STITCH
Seed Stitch (over an odd number of sts)
Row 1: K1, *p1, k1; rep from * to end of row. Row 2: K the purl sts and p the knit sts.
Rep Row 2 for Seed st.
NOTES:
1. Back, Fronts, and Sleeves are worked back and forth in rows on circular needle to armhole. The pieces are then joined and the yoke (upper portion of Cardi) is worked in one piece.
2. A circular needle is used to accommodate large number of stitches.
3. Please read through the following terms before beginning: 'as established' means to continue in the current pattern st. For example,
to continue in Seed st, k the purl sts and p the knit sts. 'work even' means to continue on in the pattern st you have established without changing the st count by increasing, decreasing, or binding off. 'Rep 0 more times' means that for a specific size you will NOT rep the
instructions.

This was my very first attempt at knitting a sweater. I was nervous but it went together more easily than I expected. I didn't have any problems following the pattern and I love the way it turned out. I get compliments every time I wear it. Thanks for sharing this pattern!
