Cushy Knit Cowl

GAUGE: 8 sts + 12 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
NOTES: 1. Cowl is worked back and forth in rows.
2. Short edges are seamed to make Cowl.

COWL
Cast on 52 sts.
Knit 2 rows.
Beg with a RS (knit) row, work in St st (k on RS, p on WS) until piece measures 11 in. (28 cm) from beg, end with a RS row. Note: End with a RS row means that the last row you work should be a RS row, and the next row that you are ready to work will be a WS row.
Knit 2 rows.
Bind off.
FINISHING
Sew short edges together (to make a circle). Weave in ends.

| I am a teenager that loves to knit and I am absolutely thrilled! I got the yarn on sale at the store yesterday and it was very quick and simple. I used size 11 needles and mine turned out just fine. The only negative is that when tugged the yarn breaks easily but it wasn't an issue until the end. I made it for my best friends birthday next week and I want to keep it! I'll have to make one for myself and my mom! I expect a lot of requests from other friends.
