BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION:

Neckband From RS with smaller needle, pick up and k18 (20, 23, 25, 28) sts evenly spaced across right front neck edge, 12 sts across top of right sleeve, 33 (39, 43, 47, 49) sts across back edge, 12 sts across top of left sleeve, and 18 (20, 23, 25, 28) sts across left front neck edge - 93 (103, 113, 121, 129) sts at the end of this row. Buttonband Note: When picking up sts for buttonband and buttonhole band, work through all thicknesses along hem edge.
