Easy Crochet Bolero

GAUGE: 13 sc + 16 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
NOTES: Large hook is used to create an open fabric that will easily stretch to fit a range of sizes.

BOLERO
Ch 138.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across - 137 sc at the end of this row.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, working in back loops only, sc in each st across.
Repeat Row 2 until piece measures about 38 in. (96.5 cm) from beginning.
Fasten off.
FINISHING
Fold piece in half to measure 21 x 38 in. (53.5 x 96.5 cm).
Place markers on each of the 21 in. (53.5 cm) sides, 7 in. (18 cm) below fold for armholes. Seam sides from armhole marker to lower edge.
Weave in ends. |
