STITCH EXPLANATION:
sc2tog (sc 2 sts together) Insert hook into st and draw up a loop. Insert hook into next st and draw up a loop. Yarn over, draw through all 3 loops on hook - 1 st decreased.
NOTES:
Skull is worked in continuous rnds; do not join and do not turn at beg of rnds. A marker is used to indicate the beg of rnd. Move marker up as each rnd is completed.
SKULL
Beg at top of Skull, with A, ch 2. Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in first ch. Place marker in first st for beg of rnd; move marker up as each rnd is completed. Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around - 12 sc at the end of this rnd. Rnd 3: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc; rep from * around - 18 sc at the end of this rnd. Rnd 4: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc; rep from * around - 24 sc at the end of this rnd. Rnd 5: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc; rep from * around - 30 sc at the end of this rnd. Rnds 6-11: Sc in each sc around. Rnd 12: (Sc2tog) 6 times (this forms the back of the skull), sc in last 18 sc - 24 sc at the end of this rnd. Rnds 13-15: Sc in each sc around.
Begin to stuff piece and continue to stuff until piece is complete. Rnd 16: *Sc2tog, sc in next 2 sc; rep from * around - 18 sc at the end of this rnd. Rnd 17: *Sc2tog, sc in next sc; rep from * around - 12 sc at the end of this rnd. Rnd 18: (Sc2tog) 6 times - 6 sc at the end of this rnd.
Fasten off, leaving a long tail. Weave tail through sts of last rnd and tighten to close opening. Knot end.
EYES (make 2)
With B, ch 2. Rnd 1: Work (2 sc, 2 hdc, 2 sc) in first ch; join with sl st in first sc.
Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing Eye to face.
FINISHING
Sew on Eyes. With B, embroider straight st teeth and nose. Cut a 3 in. (7.5 cm) length of A, fold in half to form a loop and tie to top of Skull for hanging loop.
Weave in ends.

Very quick and easy. I used felt circles for eyes instead of the crocheted circles. We gave it to my son's teacher for Halloween. She loves the Spanish holiday "Dia de los Muertos" - "The Day of the Dead" and this fits the style perfectly. A great stash buster!
