GAUGE: 10 half double crochet + 8 rows = 4 in. (10 cm). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

SHAWL
Chain 56.
Row 1: Half double crochet in 3rd chain from hook and in each chain across - 54 half double crochet.
Row 2: Chain 2, turn, half double crochet in each stitch across.
Repeat Row 2 until piece measures about 60 in. (152.5 cm) from beginning. Fasten off.
FINISHING
Weave in ends.

| I don't think this photo is the caramel tweed yarn. I made this in the caramel tweed yarn and it is beige,gray and brown in color. Love the pattern. Its very easy and worked up quickly. I added a contrasting trim around the top edge and some fringe on both bottom edges. Now I just need cooler weather so I can wear it.
