New Year's Shawl

Lion Brand® Vanna's Glamour®

GAUGE:

18 sts + 6 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in pattern.

BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

V-st (V-stitch) (Dc, ch 1, dc) in indicated st or sp.

NOTES:

1. Shawl begins at center back neck.
2. The V-sts worked at the beginning, center, and end of each row increase the number of sts, to create the triangular shape.
3. A stitch marker is used to mark the ch-1 sp at center back. Take care to move the marker up to the ch-1 sp of center V-st as you work each row.

New Year's Shawl Reviewed by tishadw74 on 2013-05-15 *****
I crocheted this so I could have something at my office to help ward off the chill from the A/C wars haha! It worked up quickly, but I wouldn't recommend using black yarn like I did, it was just too hard to see the stitches sometimes. I used some Vanna's Glamour for the special rows and the edging, it came out really nice with a subtle shine on those areas. It may be a little hard to see in the photos. Overall a nice pattern.
