Speckled Shrug

Lion Brand« Fishermen's Wool®

GAUGE:

16 sts + 22 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS).

When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Work in K1, p1 Rib until piece measures 44 in. (112 cm) from beg. Bind off.

FINISHING
Fold piece in half, bringing cast-on edge to bound off edge, to measure 38 x 22 in. (96.5 x 56 cm). Place markers on each of the 22 in. (56 cm) sides, 7 in. (18 cm) below fold for armholes. Seam sides from marker down to lower edge. Weave in ends.

Speckled Shrug Reviewed by Sandy Sacks on 2014-01-03 ****
I am an intermediate knitter and enjoyed knitting this shrug - was a little monotonous but sometimes that's a good thing when life gets hectic. I'm not totally thrilled with the fit but am hoping that once worn and stretched a bit, it will drape a little better (as noted in a previous review). I am 5'2" and average build - made this about 40" long instead of 44". Still covers my butt, which is what I want in a chilly office.
